Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14
Welcome to your last week of 2nd Grade. I have some fun camping activities planned for this week!
Writing-Go to Seesaw and do the My Amazing Tent Activity. Today you will be in the prewriting stage of writing. You will read the directions and begin brainstorming and organizing your writing.
Math-Lesson 128 Dividing by 2-Watch this Jack Hartman’s Multiplication by 4 Song. You can also skip count by 4 using your 100’s chart. Count from 4-40 forward and backwards each day a couple times. When done go to class fact practice 128A. Point to each problem and say the answer aloud. When done set your timer for 3 minutes and see how many problems you can complete. If you don’t finish , complete the rest. Have someone check your work. Next go to Seesaw and watch Lesson 126, you will need 20 pennies, or 20 of some kind of small objects. Finally, do Guided Class Practice 128A, check your work on Seesaw. Tomorrow will be your last Saxon Math Lesson in 2nd grade.
Reading-Go to Seesaw and do A Camping Spree with Mr. McGee Read Aloud Activity. After listening to the story do the Key Details assignment attached to the activity.
Social Studies-Listen to me read Little House in the Big Woods Chapters 8-9
Finish Social Studies from Friday-Check out the Mount Clemens Timeline. View it on fullscreen and pull the bottom blue bar over so you can see all the events. Choose one of the assignments to do from below:
1. Choose one of the events from the Mount Clemens Timeline. Write a short historical narrative about the event and illustrate it. In the narrative you will pretend you are a person from that time, experiencing what life was like in the past. You can use artifacts and your knowledge about how things were different from today. The activity is on seesaw.
Alana's Example of a historical narrative
2. Create a picture book of the history of Mount Clemens using 6 events or more. Make sure to have a caption and and illustrate for each event, and that it’s in chronological order(past to present time). I will repost the timeline activity on seesaw that you could use, you could take pictures of your drawings to illustrate each event or pull pictures off the internet to go with each event.
If you do not use the Seesaw Activities, you can do the assignments in your writers notebook if you would like, and send me a picture through Seesaw of your completed assignment, or your parents can email or text me a picture of it. You can work on it Friday-Tuesday. I would like them completed by Wednesday.
