Virtual School Tuesday, April 21st

Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.              Isaiah 41:10

Jesus Time-Read over and do p.1-2 “Jesus Appears to the Disciples”  in your orange Jesus time book. It was the new one I put in the packet that your parents picked up. In this new unit of Bible stories we’ll see how God gives His people the power to spread the Good News about Jesus, our Savior from sin.  God does amazing things!  He reminds us that we are forgiven and that He is with us!  We want everyone to know that!  We can be strengthened to tend Jesus sheep(spread the Good News) by baptism, the Lord’s Supper and by reading the Bible.

Listen to one of favorite bands, Rend Collective, sing Rescuer (Good News)

Classroom Prayer Requests: Continue to add to our prayer request board. You can add new ones if you’ve already shared some.   Click on the link below , then click on the +, type your name where it says title and add your prayer requests.  We will be able to see and pray for each other each day using this prayer board.

Reading/Writing-This week we will begin researching and writing our insect/or animal reports.  Watch me read from another book about an octopus, and begin collecting research about it on Seesaw. Today you are going to choose an insect or animal to research and begin collecting research on it. It’s important to pick one that you find interesting.  Take your time choosing your animal/or insect.  You can spend today just looking for one you would like to learn more about.

The topics about your animal you will research will be:  diet, habitat, body parts and how they work, and interesting facts.  We will use our writer’s notebooks to record our research in(this will be part of the prewriting step in the writing process).  We will be researching everyday this week, so take your time.  Next week we will begin to draft our final copies.  I will show you how to use some of the nonfiction text features in your writing, and other ways to make your report fun to read.  The final copies can be done as a report, a booklet, a poster/ or poster board, a PowerPoint, video presentation, any creative way you come up with to share your information.  You need to use at least two resources for your research.  I will give you some internet sites that can be used for your resources.  You could also use books from home, encyclopedias, or Raz/kids A-Z books.  I will attach your final presentations to our blog so the whole class can see them.

Sites to collect research from: Look over the site and find an animal or insect that interests you.  Search your animal or insect on the site.
